Feel Good Hormone Swaps
"Feel good hormone swaps" refers to activities and lifestyle changes that can help boost the release of hormones like dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, and oxytocin.
You may have heard of these hormones before and not realized their balance comes from the condition of our gut. These hormones play crucial roles in regulating mood, motivation, and even physical sensations like pain. So its vital that we see the connection between our gut health, a portal for hormone health, and our emotions.
Lets dive into a couple of these natural hormones found in our brain.
Dopamine and serotonin are neurotransmitters associated with pleasure and well-being.
They can be boosted, naturally, through working out, meditation, and eating foods rich in tryptophan or tyrosine. Getting natural sunlight, enjoying hobbies, and getting enough sleep also play a huge role.
We can experience symptoms like being moody, feeling depressed, or a lack of motivation and dismiss the idea it is due to a low production of these hormones. Lets get ahead of our health and tackle our gut balance. Next time, if you notice you’re in a “mood” or just hard to get out of an emotional rut, try getting outside and boosting the serotonin hormone!
