Benefits of a Healthy Workplace

Natalie Watkins from Rebuilt Life Coaching joined Today in Amarillo on Thursday morning and gave some more information about Rebuilt Life Coaching’s Corporate Wellness Program.

Watkins shared some statistics that show the importance of physical activity including more than 944,800 Americans die of heart disease or stroke every year and they account for more than 1 and 3 deaths.

Some more stats that will blow your mind are:

more than 38 million Americans have diabetes,  and another 98 million adults in the United States have prediabetes.
Whats the root cause of type 2 diabetics? Their Nutrition.

Obesity
, from poor nutrition and lifestyle, affects 20% of children and 42% of adults, putting them at risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers as well.

Physical inactivity also costs the nation $117 billion a year for related health care.

Heres the thing, we can go on and on, but the important factor is, if we don't start taking care of our health now, we are going to be investing in it down the road. Lets change that. It starts here.

Right now as we're getting ready to launch these 6 week challenges, we're looking for businesses that a great community with their staff and members.
This includes (but not limited to) schools, doctor offices, dental offices, and coffee shops!
If you work in this environment, this would be amazing for your community and accountability!

Being a teacher at one point in my life, I understand the talk of new diets in that break room. Talking about how to get healthy, which diet is next to try, the weight that we “all need to lose.” So, instead of guessing, lets make it fun for you guys and do just that!
We dont want to limit the types of businesses we get into, but we do want to make a difference, long term, in the office. So take this seriously and talk to your employer about scheduling an intro call with me, Haley, to see what this can look like.

In these challenges, we have monthly nutrition talks and even opportunities for group coaching for when it ends.
If you had that kind of accountabiity ALL year long, it is inevitable to see change in your work and personal life!

How often we like to put on challenges: We like to have 2 Challenges a year. In the Fall/Spring so you can monitor your progress, build on your habits and continue to be goal focused throughout the year.

Get your employer involved and let’s talk about it!
