Ive Been Following the Same Routine for over a Decade….
Dont @ me and say I told you to wake up at 5:30 on a weekend because that’s what time your week day alarm goes off, BUT
ITS MORE BENEFICIAL TO WAKE UP AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY THAN IT IS TRYING TO GO TO BED AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY
That’s right. So even if you stay up late on Saturday night, try to stick to your morning routine you follow during the week the best you can. Or Maybe this looks like creating a consistent weekend routine?
Every since middle school, my twin sister and I have started our mornings with Cross Country practice and even continued this schedule as collegiate athletes as well!
Not only has getting up in the morning and getting active, consistently, helped create a routine that I know I can follow throughout all lives curve balls, but also helped shape my morning routine that I still follow today!
Are you creating habits that will support your health 10 years from now?
At some point you have to become aware AND make the consistent change for the life you want for yourself.
Routines build consistency
Routines create long term habits
This could look like:
not skipping breakfast on the weekend even if it’s at 10am
starting your day with water and focusing on keeping your hydration in check….even on the busy weekends!
bringing snacks to events or while running errands
Routines don’t have to be complicated.
>>> Try pairing a habit with something you’re already doing consistently at that time.
For example, if you grab a coffee each morning, try pairing a NEW habit of drinking a bottle of water first. Before you know it, this is now part of your routine with your already formed routine.
Routines arnt just for those A type people who like to be organized. They’re for everyone and they HELP WITH SUCCESS. They help with stress management and prioritizing what NEEDS to get done.
Do y’all have a routine in any part of your day?
What does it look like?!
