Smoothies Vs Meal Replacement Shakes
Today on KAMR, we had one of our Personal Training Recommendations, Mckinely Brockman, help explain why creating your own smoothies are going to be more ideal than having the meal replacement shakes we often find in diet programs.
1) You KNOW what youre getting into your smoothie and there isn’t a long paragraph of ingredients that you can’t pronounce. The thing is, with all the added preservatives, additives, and dyes, we are creating more harm for our body, than good. These are ALL deregulators for our hormones and just filling empty spots in our body where we are needing key nutrients instead.
2) Smoothies are super quick to prep in the morning and you don’t have to use packaged contents from meal replacement shakes.
You can easily put your spinach, fruit and healthy fat in a zip lock bag and add your protein powder or almond milk that next morning. 5 minutes and done. If we have time to go through a drive through for our morning coffee, then we have time to prioritize a healthy breakfast for ourselves. It’s all about priority and intention here. Your health matters.
3) You’re getting SO many key vitamin and minerals through these ingredients in a smoothie because you’re using whole, real foods! We often take a multivitamin to supplement the vitamins we arn’t getting in the day due to our lifestyle. However, with building balanced smoothies, you’re able to get the micronutrients you need and youre getting them first thing in the morning to support hormone, and metabolic health!
