But why does this happen?
• your body is consuming sugar first thing in the morning, causing an immediate insulin spike and the craving switch on. Sugar is so very addicting. When we’re constantly going through spikes and dips in our glucose levels, those afternoon crashes are usually one of those symptoms.
• Coffee is super acidic. Having coffee on an empty stomach is like drinking acid out of a jar for breakfast 😆 but really. Stop doing this. Even just adding 8-12oz of water before can really be a great flush for your kidneys and liver AND help balance your blood sugar for the rest of the day. Coffee can cause mad stomach pains or bloat when you’re drinking first thing. Sound familiar?
